Kamal Haasan shares, ‘Shershaah is that exception that makes my chest swell with pride for my soldiers’

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is the latest actor in the league to praise Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah. On Monday, the actor took to his Twitter handle sharing his views about the film and also spoke on how it’s a departure from other kinds of films made on the Indian Army.

He tweeted, “Right from my childhood as a film fan and a patriot’s son I resented the way Indian army was depicted in some of our Cinemas. Shershaah is that exception that makes my chest swell with pride for my soldiers.” Praising the film’s leads and Dharma Productions, Kamal added, “Thanks @DharmaMovies for promoting a talented director like @vishnu_dir. Congrats @SidMalhotra and @advani_kiara, excellent work (sic).”

Reacting to the review, Sidharth and Kiara said, “Thank you so so much sir,” while  Karan Johar, producer of the movie, wrote, “Thank you so much Sir! This is such an honour for team #Shershaah.”

Biographical war drama Shershaah is set on the events of the Kargil war of 1999 and shows the story of PVC awardee Captain Vikram Batra. The film has received a very good response from the audience since its release and the songs have already topped the charts. Many celebrities are singing praise for the biopic of Captain Vikram Batra and the performances by the actors.

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee in review for NDTV wrote, “Lead actor Sidharth Malhotra has what it takes to flesh out a real-life martyr who has left behind a larger-than-life aura,” about lead actor Sidharth’s performance in the film.

Actress Alia Bhatt wrote about the film, “Must must must watch! This film has made me laugh and cry and everything more. Sidharth Malhotra, you were too special yaa! So, so moving. And Kiara Advani my beautiful, you really just shine right through. Congratulations to the whole team and entire cast. Such a lovely film.”

While superstar Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “If a man hasn’t discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.” – King, Jr. Watching the impactful story of legendary Kargil War hero Capt. Vikram Batra (PVC), on-screen makes us realise the meaning of this quote. Watch #Shershaah with Sid’s solid performance.”

Actor Vicky Kaushal had also reviewed the film and praised it. Taking to his Instagram Stories, Vicky shared how much he loved the movie. He wrote, “Loved the Film. The valour and sacrifice of Capt. Batra had me in tears. Salute to all the bravehearts. Kudos to the entire team of #Shershaah #VishnuVardhan @karanjohar @sidhmalhotra you have had a long journey with the FIlm and it’s all so worth it. You are absolutely smashing brother.” Appreciating actress Kiara, he went on, “@kiaraaliaadvani tum toh yaar rula kar hi manogi (You’ll make me cry). So so good. Must watch… kyunki, YEH DIL MAANGE MORE!!!”
