Hollywood star Daniel Craig says he finds it “distasteful” to leave heirs massive amounts of money

Daniel Craig said that he hasn't planned to have much money left to give to his children by the time he dies.

Hollywood star Daniel Craig may have eight-figure Hollywood paychecks — which reportedly includes reprising the role of James Bond in the upcoming “No Time To Die,” pocket of $25 (Rs 185 crore) million. Also, $100 million (approx Rs 744 crore) upfront for the sequels to “Knives Out” — but the actor isn’t planning to leave too much of his wealth for his children.

In the recent issue of Candis Magazine, he detailed his philosophy on inheritance. The 53-year-old said, “Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed? I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about $11 billion, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too(sic).”

The actor said that he finds it “distasteful” to leave heirs massive amounts of money. Craig has two daughters, one 29-year-old daughter and another 2-year-old. Actor Rachel Weisz, his wife, also has a teenage son.

He said, “My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.”

Speaking about the work front, Daniel Craig will be next seen in the much-anticipated 25th James Bond movie, ‘No Time to Die’, the movie’s release has been delayed several times. Its current release date is October 8, in the United States of America and September 30, in the United Kingdom.

Many actors will be seen reprising their roles such as Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright, Léa Seydoux, and Rory Kinnear. Meanwhile, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek, and Billy Magnussen will be joining the franchise with ‘No Time To Die’.
