India reports 1.52 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases, 3128 deaths in last 24 hours

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also published data that shows 34,48,66,883 samples were tested up to May 30, including 16,83,135 samples tested yesterday.

On Monday, May 31, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, there is a decrease in new cases from the previous day.

The report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 1,52,734 new COVID-19 cases and 2,38,022 patients got a discharge, while 3,128 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India are now around 20.26 lakhs. The total death toll in India reached 3,29,100.

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) also published data that shows 34,48,66,883 samples were tested up to May 30, including 16,83,135 samples tested yesterday.

The country has administered more than 21 Cr vaccine doses (21,31,54,129) as per the report.

Vaccination is an integral pillar of the comprehensive strategy of the Government of India for containment and management of the pandemic, along with Test, Track, Treat and COVID Appropriate Behaviour.

The government of India has been receiving international cooperation of COVID-19 relief medical supplies and equipment since 27th April 2021 from different countries/organisations. These are being promptly dispatched/delivered to the States and UTs.

Cumulatively, 18,265 Oxygen Concentrators; 19,085 Oxygen Cylinders; 19 Oxygen Generation Plants; 15,256 ventilators/ BiPAP; ~7.7 L Remdesivir vials, ~12L Favipiravir tablets delivered/ dispatched through road and air, from 27th April 2021 to 29th May 2021.
